Anglo-Eastern launches SAPS for smarter, greener shipping

Anglo-Eastern launches SAPS

Anglo-Eastern Univan Group has launched its new Sustainability and Performance Services (SAPS), a next-generation digital platform designed to help shipowners and charterers cut emissions, optimise fleet performance, and reduce fuel costs.

The new service combines artificial intelligence with real-time vessel and voyage data to improve fuel efficiency, optimise routes, and support compliance with evolving environmental regulations. SAPS addresses key global requirements, including the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), FuelEU, and Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII).

“SAPS demonstrates Anglo-Eastern’s commitment to innovation and sustainable shipping,” said Niraj Nanda, Chief Commercial Officer at Anglo-Eastern. “It helps clients lower fuel consumption while managing rising compliance costs. With regulations evolving rapidly, SAPS gives operators the intelligence needed to stay efficient and compliant.”

Swapnodeep Mondal, Group Managing Director of Operations and Shared Services, said the new platform merges Anglo-Eastern’s technical expertise with intelligent analytics. “SAPS is more than a service. It’s a comprehensive solution that empowers crews and fleet managers with real-time insights to deliver measurable operational gains.”

The system has already been tested across the Anglo-Eastern fleet. Between 2023 and 2025, it monitored 800 vessels and 46,000 voyages, trained 4,300 crew members, and analysed over 739,000 performance reports. The trials achieved reductions of 700,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ and 225,000 metric tonnes of fuel, saving an estimated USD 135 million.

Vipin Achan, Head of Performance at Anglo-Eastern, added: “From first mile to last tonne, we make performance more than a metric — it’s a mindset that drives operational excellence.”

Available as a subscription service, SAPS reinforces Anglo-Eastern’s role as a leader in digital ship management, helping the maritime sector meet commercial and sustainability goals.
