Alfa Laval has announced the appointment of Martijn Bergink as the new President of its Marine Division, effective 1 September 2025.
Bergink is no stranger to the company. He’s been with Alfa Laval since 1998, holding several senior roles over the years, most of them within the marine sector.
He will take on the new position in addition to his current roles as President of BU Pumping Systems and Managing Director of Framo, an Alfa Laval-owned company.
”Martijn has had a long and successful career in Alfa Laval and has a deep knowledge and understanding of the dynamics and developments in the marine industry,” said Tom Erixon, CEO and President, Alfa Laval.
With this appointment, Bergink will also join Group Management.
Alfa Laval’s Marine Division plays a major role in the company’s global operations. It was responsible for 40% of the total order intake in 2024 and currently employs around 6,300 people.
The division focuses on delivering systems and solutions for the maritime industry, with an emphasis on energy efficiency, decarbonization, digitalization, and regulatory compliance.
”I look forward to further developing the business to meet future customer needs as we continue the decarbonization journey and seize the opportunities ahead of us,” stated Martijn Bergink.
Bergink succeeds Sameer Kalra, who will be retiring after a long and successful run at the company. Kalra joined Alfa Laval through the acquisition of Aalborg Industries in 2011 and has been a key figure in driving growth and innovation, especially in support of the decarbonization of the merchant fleet.
