Alfa Laval opens new service centre in Zhoushan

Alfa Laval has opened a new and expanded marine service centre in Zhoushan, China, strengthening its global service network and enhancing support for shipowners and operators in one of the world’s busiest dry-docking hubs.

The new facility brings together key services, spare parts, and technical expertise near major East China shipyards. Also, offers faster, more efficient support for both regional and international fleets.

“The marine industry is global, which makes Zhoushan a key piece in a much larger logistical puzzle,” said Anders Lindmark, President of Heat & Gas Systems, Alfa Laval Marine Division. “We will continue investing in our service network so customers have easy access to the expertise that keeps them running smoothly.”

The centre supports a full range of Alfa Laval marine systems, including PureBallast, PureSOx, Gas Combustion Units, boilers, and plate heat exchangers, and maintains a large stock of OEM spare parts for quick turnaround. Boiler inspection, maintenance, and repair services can now be performed more efficiently both on site and on board.

Located close to major dry-dock facilities, the Zhoushan centre also helps shipowners better plan preventive maintenance and upgrades during scheduled dockings. “By investing in service centres where dry docking occurs, we ensure that skills, equipment, and materials are ready when the vessel arrives,” Lindmark added.

The opening underscores Alfa Laval’s commitment to expanding its global marine service footprint and providing localized, high-value support wherever vessels operate.
