Adm. Ossama Rabiee: Suez Canal traffic flows normally in both directions

Suez Canal Authority

Adm. Ossama Rabiee, Chairman and Managing Director of the Suez Canal Authority, confirmed that traffic through the Canal is flowing normally in both directions. The Canal continues to provide navigational services around the clock without disruption.

Today, 56 vessels transited the Canal with a total gross tonnage of 2.6 million tons.

  • 24 vessels sailed in the northern convoy, totaling 1 million tons.

  • 32 vessels sailed in the southern convoy, totaling 1.6 million tons.

Adm. Rabiee said decisions by some major shipping lines to suspend Suez Canal transits remain temporary. These measures depend on developments in the regional security situation. He stressed that the Authority continues to communicate with clients and shipping lines to support global trade and maintain supply chain stability.

He expressed hope that the security situation will improve soon, given its direct impact on freedom of navigation in the region.

Over the past three days, 100 vessels transited the Canal with a total net tonnage of 3.8 million tons.
