AD Ports, SPG Yantai partner on Green Auto Hubs

AD Ports Group has signed a preliminary partnership with China’s SPG Yantai Port. The deal focuses on building green automotive industrial parks and boosting vehicle trade between Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa.

The partners aim to create a China–Middle East–Africa automotive corridor. They will link SPG Yantai’s hub in Shandong with AD Ports Group’s terminals in the UAE and other markets. The network will support trade in both new and used vehicles.

Plans include bilateral terminals and auto hubs powered by AI technologies to raise efficiency. The initiative will also explore clean energy solutions, combining Yantai’s advanced infrastructure with Abu Dhabi’s growing logistics base.

Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, CEO of the Maritime & Shipping Cluster at AD Ports Group, said: “This agreement strengthens trade links with China and enhances Abu Dhabi’s role as a hub for automotive logistics. It will drive economic diversification, support the circular economy, and deliver long-term value across Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa.”

The UAE is already the top overseas market for Chinese second-hand car exports. The new partnership is set to inject momentum into trade flows and deepen economic ties between the two countries.
