AD Ports boosts both financial and container figures

AD Ports Group has announced its results for the previous year, reporting strong operating and financial performance.

First of all, the container throughput of the UAE-based operator grew to 4.33 million TEUs in the last year, representing an increase of 28% year-on-year, as the utilisation of the two existing container terminals continued to improve.

Additionally, the total net profit of the company reached around US$350 million in 2022, which is a significant increase of 53% compared with the 2021 figure. Moreover, AD Ports Group’s revenue rose 41% year-on-year to approximately US$1.5 billion, which translates to an increase of 23% year-on-year.

Furthermore, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) of the group increased to around US$600 million in 2022, up 37% year-on-year.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, managing director and group CEO of AD Ports Group, commented, “The Group’s remarkable financial and operational performance was driven by our Maritime and Ports Clusters’ results, coupled with strategic investments, new joint ventures, partnerships and acquisitions that enabled us to expand our geographic footprint, our services and offerings as well as enhance our position as a major player in global trade and logistics.”
