Access World Carrasco opens new logistics hub at the port of Algeciras

Access World Carrasco has officially opened its new warehouse complex in Algeciras, underscoring the partners’ shared growth ambitions at one of the EU’s most strategic ports.

Purpose-built to streamline logistics and expand storage capacity, the site includes three covered warehouses plus an open yard. Two of the buildings feature seven-tier racking, while the third provides general-cargo space equipped with an overhead crane for heavy-lift operations.

State-of-the-art systems will enable faster, more efficient service and tighter links between global shipping lanes and the evolving needs of regional customers.

Jeremy Carr, CEO of Access World, said the opening reaffirms the confidence in the Port of Algeciras and Spain as pivotal players in the logistics and storage market. Julio Carrasco, president of PJ Carrasco, likened the partnership to winning the lottery for his family firm, crediting the project’s success to the collective efforts of all stakeholders.

Gerardo Landaluce, head of the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras, called the launch one of the year’s high points, noting that the facility is already drawing new business to the Strait of Gibraltar and renewing his call for a national strategy to fully exploit Algeciras’ potential.

Mercedes Colombo, the Andalusian government’s delegate in Cádiz, added that the project highlights the region’s legal stability and investor confidence.
