ABS has launched a new Technology Center in Saudi Arabia focused on smart systems, robotics, AI, and advanced digital technologies for the maritime industry. The opening took place during the Saudi Maritime Logistics Congress and aligns with the Kingdom’s strategy for global leadership in shipping.

Patrick Ryan, ABS Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, said the center will “ensure Saudi Arabia is at the cutting edge of maritime research and talent development” and serve as a hub for collaboration between the region’s technology ecosystem and ABS’ resources.

Aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, the center will develop AI-driven solutions, partner with vessel operators, shipyards, manufacturers, regulators, and Saudi universities, and train the next generation of maritime professionals.

The Transport General Authority (TGA) has supported the center’s development, ensuring alignment with IMO standards and workforce readiness. Yousef Al Dossary, TGA General Manager, emphasized that the center reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to innovation, safety, and cultivating future maritime talent.
