ABS has granted Approval in Principle (AiP) to HD Hyundai Mipo for its new 30,000 CBM LNG carrier and bunkering vessel design.
The dual-purpose vessel can transport LNG as cargo and supply it as bunker fuel to various vessels. ABS completed a full design review to ensure compliance with class and statutory requirements.
“LNG remains a key option in the alternative fuel mix,” said Joshua Divin, ABS Senior VP. “This design will help deliver LNG quickly and efficiently.”
Dongjin Lee of HD Hyundai Mipo said the design supports rising demand and helps the maritime sector transition to cleaner fuels.
