ABS has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Saronic Technologies to explore the use of autonomous systems in shipping.
The agreement sets out a framework for collaboration on technical requirements for autonomous surface vessels (ASVs). It also covers classification services for Saronic’s autonomous capabilities.

ABS has been at the forefront of developing standards and providing technical support for autonomous and remote-controlled technologies in both maritime and offshore industries.
