
ABB has signed a 15-year fleet-wide service agreement with Royal Caribbean Group, expanding a decades-long partnership and reinforcing ABB’s role in advancing maritime performance and innovation.
The agreement covers 33 ships across Royal Caribbean’s global fleet of 67 vessels and includes preventive maintenance and digital support for Azipod® propulsion systems.
“This service agreement marks an important milestone in our journey together and highlights the critical role of ABB’s solutions in modernizing and maintaining the performance of one of the world’s most innovative cruise fleets,” said Juha Koskela, President of ABB Marine & Ports.
The agreement is designed to maximize fleet availability, enhance propulsion efficiency, and reduce turnaround times for planned maintenance, supporting Royal Caribbean’s ship performance goals.

The partnership centers on ABB’s Azipod® propulsion, a system known for improving maneuverability and reducing fuel consumption by up to 20%.
