44 kg of cocaine seized in Malta

Maltese customs authorities had seized 44 kg of cocaine in Malta on its way from Ecuador to Cyprus, it was revealed on Wednesday (Nov. 21).

Malta Customs said in a statement that the street value is calculated to be 4.5 million euros (5.1 million U.S. dollars).

The drugs were found in a refrigerated container, which was behind a panel above the refrigerant compressor.
