Ukrzaliznytsia, a Ukrainian state-owned railway operator, launched a new regular Containerships Train in cooperation with the Belarusian and Lithuanian Railways running across the three countries, wrote Yevhen Kravtsov, the chairman of the company’s board on his official Facebook page on Tuesday.
“This year Ukrzaliznytsya experiences a ‘containership boom.’ The Containerships Train is our 22nd container train circulating in Ukraine. We offer competitive delivery speed regardless of weather conditions, regular and easy schedule. Add to this a significant logistics costs cut of the average 25 percent. The benefits are undeniable,” wrote Kravtsov.
The first Containerships Train carrying 65 containers will run between Draugiste in Lithuania and Brovary in Ukraine twice a week covering the route in 50 hours. The company plans to organize container transportation to Odessa seaport as well.
