Maersk announces upcoming blank sailings

In connection with the Golden Week blank sailings plan shared earlier on Far East to Mediterranean services, Maersk is announcing the Eastbound coverages per below. “We aim to minimize the impact to our customers and offer customers predictability by making a structural change and securing alternative routings,” the Danish firm says.

Effective week 45 Eastbound, Maersk will temporarily suspend the AE2 service until mid-December 2019 and will resume in line with demand pickup. The first AE2 vessel voyage to be suspended is:

Alternative coverage for AE2 suspension:

  • Algeciras: Covered through inducement on AE5. First vessel will be MSC Aurora 952E

In connection with the Algeciras inducement, the AE5 service will omit Port Tangier. This port call will be covered by the AE6, inducing Port Tangiers starting week 44.

In addition to suspending the AE2 service, Maersk will blank one sailing of AE7 service in week 46 Eastbound, as per below details:
