As every year, in 2017, ESC is organizing its annual Maritime Day.
This year it will be held on the 29th of November in Genoa where we will be hosted and supported by the Genoa Port Authorities.
The two round tables of the event will cover the following topics:
1st Round table: Market and competition in container transport
Already a year ago, the maritime sector has felt disruptions on the competition scene. 2017 has been marked with new alliances and a booking crunch. The 1st Round table will analyse the situation looking at the evidence, legislation, market developments, and how shippers and the ocean carriers could collaborate better.
2nd Round table: Innovation in freight transport
Shippers have always been interested in optimising and making their supply chains more efficient. The 2nd Round table will look at the new developments in the digital and technological areas from the maritime perspective. Although ocean carriers have been under a heavy financial pressure, this has not kept them from being innovative. Shippers will see how smart containers, tracking and tracing solutions, and digitalisation could not only contribute to the improvement of the supply chain but also to a better collaboration.
At this occasion, we will have speeches from high level representatives from the OECD, MAERSK, European Commission, and international companies.
The complete program can be found on the MARITIME DAY website.
